Suggestions for
Finding a Coach

  • Speak with two to three different coaches before selecting one. Describe why you are seeking a coach and what is important to you in a coaching relationship. Invite the coach to describe who they are, how they work, and what is important to them.

  • Before you speak with coaches, take a few minutes to read their web site (if they have one) or other materials they can provide.

  • If possible, work with someone who lives near you. While much coaching can happen by telephone, there is no substitute for face-to-face conversations, particularly early on as you are getting to know each other.
