This offering is only for graduates and current students of the Professional Coaching Course.
We invite you to join us on Wednesday, December 11th, 3-5pm Pacific for the next gathering of the LGBTQIA+ Community of Integral Coaches.
“Creating a safe container for inclusive queer community”
In this time of cultural division, one where queer and trans folk have been vilified, we need to work even harder to come together as we build a loving and safe community. In this session, Nat and Root will be facilitating the LGBTQIA+ coaches group in aligning on group agreements for how we operate to ensure we create an inclusive environment for our members to bring their full selves, recognizing that our queer identities intersect with race, class, disability, and our many forms of cultural privilege/oppression.
In this process, we hope to set up our LGBTQIA+ coaches group for a continual process of inclusivity and safety. We also hope to build the capacities of coaches within the group to bring inclusive and safe group agreement practices to other communities they are part of.
Prior to the session, Nat and Root encourage you to reflect on the following:
- What has allowed me to feel safe in communities I have been part of?
- When have I felt excluded or unsafe in a community? When have I witnessed others being excluded or unsafe?
- How might we encourage more diverse and inclusive participation in our group, and more broadly in coaching as a field?
Nat and Root plan to share a set of draft group agreements ahead of our meeting on Dec. 11 for you to review and reflect on ahead of our call. They can’t wait to be in conversation and community with you!
Please let us know below if you can attend on December 11th—or, if this date doesn’t work for you, if would like to be notified for future gatherings.
